Made my adopted Afro-american daughter cry! Not politically correct!
I was looking for a family friendly and inspiring tale that my adopted afro-american daughter could enjoy so I decided to purchase Princess and the Frog. I shouldn't' have. I SHOULD have stuck to classics of children's cinema such as Bee Movie, Treasure Planet, and Shark Tale!
First of all, there was no CGI animation. With all the computer effects these days it doesn't make any sense to resort to these obsolete methods, actually drawing out each frame! Next Disney will make a silent movie and really get my ire up!
However, what really got my overly sensitive progressive goat was how un-PC this film was. It makes all afro-americans talk in this silly accident, listen to jazz music, and practice voodoo! Who wrote this movie anyway, Newt Gingrich and Glenn Beck? since Disney has never had a racial bias, the occult, or princesses in any of their films, this came to me as quite a shock!
For good childen's movies, stick to Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Monsters Inc., and The Incredible Mr. Limpet!
