not as descibed
Just to point out, under features it says, and i quote "Uses built-in, USB-rechargeable lithium-ion battery for hours of play". thats total crap, but honestly, not really a deal breaker. I just wish i could trust the description. Also, the people complaining about the auto-shutoff are completely correct, it's maddeningly annoying at best. it literally has to be blasting the volume to keep from shutting off, and thats only for songs that dont have any quiet parts whatsoever. otherwise you can depend on having to hit buttons on it to keep it awake or wake it up.
that issue is a shame, because this is definitely the best sounding fm transmitter i've ever used, totally passable if this is your only option. I did email the seller about the auto-shutoff and they sent me another one for free, which somehow doesnt shut off at all. While this essentially fixed the problem for me, it also removes one of the actual features they listed that actually exists on the transmitter. however, i'd rather it never shut off than shut off in the middle of all my music.
on a final note, i dont recall seeing anywhere that these were used or refurb, but the seller i purchased from definitely did not send me new units. bulk packaging was mentioned, but i was unaware that this meant "not new either", but maybe thats just me. i suppose though, after some time, and correspondence with the seller, i did receive a satisfactory fm transmitter. so if you're eventually so lucky, at this price, you cant go wrong. otherwise, its not really worth the risk.

Exactly what you paid for
I got his device from a 3rd party seller, and got the bare bones. BUT, that's all you need. All you need to do is plug it in to your car's electric/cigarette lighter port and plug it into your media device's headphone port. DON'T PUT THE CD PLAYER/MP3/OTHER DEVICE AT FULL BLAST. The sound will distort and red-line. Turn it down a notch or two, then it will sound GREAT.
I use this for streaming Pandora and MP3s off my HTC Hero. Pandora sounds pretty good, but MP3 sound fantastic. So basically, this will broadcast to your car radio at top quality. I was getting 4 point sound from my stereo streaming MP3s. Don't shell out the dough for the store brands or the same thing in the stores. Just look for it here on Amazon and you'll get a great deal. Great investment, especially if you may be using different devices.
