Poor performance and Static White Noise in Big Cities.
Poor performance and Static White Noise in Big Cities.

I payed $45 for this at the AAFES Military BX. I used it when I drove from Hawthorne Nevada to Las Vegas Nevada, and then back to Hawthorne, Nevada and it was giving me static every now and then causing me to switch stations every 20 minutes, give or take.
So I just gave in and sucked it up and listened to white noise every now and then.
I also bought a Griffin ear bud to listen to the iPod when I am not in the car, that is aweful as well, no bass, very high treble.
I will never buy another Griffin product again. I should have tried Belkin or some other product.
I live in Seattle and the iTrip FM Transmitter is even worst.
The only good thing that I like about this product is that it charges the iPod. That's all.
I have a tape adapter and it broke, so when I get the chance to go back to Walmart, I will buy a tape adapter and throw the Griffin products away. It's a crappy product, at least the ones I bought, unfortunately. Never again.

The only SMART thing about this is tricking you into buying it!
I purchased this item approximately 3 weeks ago to use with my IPOD Nano in the car. It does charge the IPOD, but does does not make anything close to a tolerable connection on any frequency.
The "SMART" technology either finds a current radio station or brings you right back to the same frequency you are already on and not getting reception. I found that if I manually move up and down the channels on this device and then move the car stereo channels along with it, I can find half decent reception. This is somewhat difficult in the car while driving.

I am returning this item and going to keep looking for something dumb that works.

OK Reception, Does not Charge Ipod Touch 2G
I am going to keep this product bc it does have a decent reception (little to no static) if you find the right station. However, it does not charge the Ipod Touch 2G. I believe that you can overcharge the ipod and kill the battery; especially if you have it in the car plugged in a lot. So maybe this will end up being better for it.
