Fantastic Value
Oddly enough, I just read the reviews of this product AFTER purchasing it and putting it on my iPod. And the only reason I came back to it was because I love it so much, I thought I should add my two cents as well.
First off, there are only a handful of first generation iPod touch cases left anywhere. (This alone has sworn me off of being an Apple early adopter ever again.) But the Touch is a necessity for me because it replaced my PDA, I also use it for business, and it's in heavy rotation in my daily life. The only other case I had was the clear plastic one that always broke on me, and when I needed a new one, that's the only one that was available in the Apple store, at $25! When I found this one online, I was just so happy that something other than the flimsy clear plastic one, I got it. And what a surprise when I opened it. The rubber back provided a great, no scratch grip, and the back is usually what gets scratched the most. The protective cover for the screen is practically invisible, unlike so many grayish ones I've seen before. It keeps my screen nice and bright, the way I need it to be, and I haven't experienced any real touch sensitivity issues like some others suggest. To be fair, my Touch is mostly for business (typing e-mails, reading e-mails) and I don't play any games on it.
Another thing I found in other reviews were people stating how hard it was to open. That's a good thing! Easy open cases, like ones I've had for my cell phone, also open easily when they hit the ground, making the point of a case useless. I am glad it does not open easily, and I don't even know why I would need to open it unless it's broke. On top of its overall function, the shiny graphite is great to look at, and fingerprints come off easy with just about anything (I'm using my t-shirt right now). Even still, they give you a buffing cloth too.
Overall, I love the look and feel of this case and highly recommend it to anyone still holding on to a 1G Touch like me. :o)

Tough little case, very slick and nice-buy one or three!
I've had one of these on mine and my girlfriends iPod touch for a year now, and it's scuffed a little, but that's because I drop my iPod a LOT.
Don't judge me, okay? It happens, get over it.
Easy to get on, easy to get off if you need to (plug it into ipod cradle).
I got mine for like three cents, no kidding.
two of them.
Buy, buy, buy.

Really good deal!!
This case is really great, it is exactly what I wanted! I have bought a case from Griffin before for my iTouch, and it was the same design, but clear. This is much cooler looking. The old case from Griffin held up for almost three years, and I dropped it several times, but no major falls. It finally broke from a drop on a tile floor from about three feet up, and the case just lost a small piece that keeps it closed. This case is constructed the exact same way, so I assume it will hold up for an equally long time. The reflective front of the case is nice, it makes the iPod look like a whole new product. The black rubber back gives it a good grip on surfaces and makes it easier to hold. The screen cover seems fine, but when I put it on I got a few air bubbles. I don't know if that was just me, or if the screen isn't as good, but I don't mind because they don't seem to affect the performance of the screen. The only downfall is that this screen cover and reflective front seem more prone to smears and scratches, but they are easy to clean. I highly recommend this product. Even after paying for shipping it was still cheaper than anything Wal-mart or Target had, all their stuff was at least $17, and I didn't think they had anything even close to what I wanted.
