Great substitution compared to other adapters.
This adapter is one of the smallest I could find and size is important as I'm using it for an iPod integration kit and there's not much space left after you add the adapter. It's already snug with this Griffin adapter but the rest would have definitely been too big. Works great and is plug and play easy to use. My only gripe is that it does sometimes disconnect because it's easy to separate the connection between the iPod and the connector since there's no locking mechanism to hold them together.

a piece of junk....
I purchased this adapter for my 2007 VW Rabbit so I could use my Ipod 5th gen Nano in the car... First of all it doesn't latch down or lock onto the old dock...Why is this a problem you ask?...Well if you are like me you like to take your Ipod with you when get out of the car...after having to pull the Ipod out of it whenever I got out of the car for about month, this cheaply made hunk-o-junk fell apart and the connection got so loose it simply quit working. This product will only work well for you if you NEVER remove your Ipod.... fat chance..

It seems like the manufacture wasn't considerate of the fact the the ipod docks in cars like mine are inside the center console I can barely fit my hand in there let alone pull the ipod out with this attached to it. If the were smart the device would have a cable 4 inch maybe comming off to connect the actual Ipod/Iphone ...that way it would not get looser and break when you remove the Ipod/Iphone..

Griffin Charge Converter for All iPods
Item DOES charge iPod, BUT most of the time when charging, it cuts off the audio to my in-dash automotive head-unit. Not very pleased since I have to choose to EITHER charge the iPod OR listen to the iPod, not both at th same time as I was lead to believe this unit should accomplish.

Great price
Great price. I don't like the length that is added to the iPod, though. It doesn't quite fit in the space I have for it. Definitely does what it is supposed to.

We're back in business!
I was dismayed to find that my older Bose iPod dock wouldn't charge my new iPod Nano. Perhaps it would be more fair to say that Apple, in its infinite wisdom, decided to ignore the concept of backward compatibility when designing their new iPods. Whatever! Once I got tired of charging my iPod offline and then docking it, I searched for the solution I knew would be available. This little adapter restored the ability of the dock to charge the iPod. They are inexpensive enough that I ordered two - one for permanent placement on the dock and one for all other uses. I also ordered a plastic fitting from the manufacturer for $1.95 that creates a nice secure fit on the Bose iPod dock rather than leaving a gap around the interface. They do the job they were designed to do flawlessly and are well worth the price.
